Senior Project Manager - Marketing Communications

Job Description:
Responsible for the management of various MarCom project managers and project coordinators along with processes and schedules within the Marketing Communication dept. of a Life Sciences comopany. Lead and supervise internal activity to execute project plans in an effective manner. Develop cost analysis system. Interface with internal clients, MarCom staff, and outside vendors/businesses. Work with project management, print/web/video production, scheduling, estimating, and fulfillment. Help to develop, recommend and means of efficiency with project schedules, cross charges. Establish and manage project budgets from both internal and external resources.

Responsibilities:
  • Management: Manage/supervise both staff and freelance project managers and project coordinators within the MarCom dept. Set tone for work team and specific goals.
  • Efficiency: Work directly with the MarCom dept. manager, production director and design director to ensure that projects are being managed efficiently and effectively. Make recommendations for improvements within the department. Work with MarCom teams to ensure that projects are delivered on a timely basis. Help to provide quality control and improve systems.
  • Metrics: Produce monthly ad hoc dept. metrics and provide status reports to Production Director. Analyze data from reports and offer suggestions to improve/streamline internal processes.
  • Process: Develop various work instructions and department protocols to ensure that projects move through the organization in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Liaison: Work with internal clients to better understand their needs for various projects and different situations. Develop direct relationships within the dept. and with other groups within the organization.
  • Estimates/Budgets: Develop accurate estimates for various projects and ensure that projects stay within estimates.
  • Vendor Management: Identify, qualify, and manage outside vendors/companies as needed.
